The La Porte County Family YMCA is a leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are a powerful association of men, woman and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of our community.

With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Our Y ensures that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. To do our important work, our Y relies on support from members, donors, volunteers and community leaders.

Our Y believes that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our community. Every day our impact is felt when a mentor inspires a child, when an individual makes a healthy choice and when the community comes together for the common good.

Our Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. Be a part of a cause committed to moving people and communities forward.

Volunteers StockAnnual Campaign

After 107 years of serving La Porte County, the Y understands what our community needs to be its best. We focus on three priorities: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Every day, people of all ages and from many different backgrounds come together to grow stronger and healthier in spirit, mind and body.

The Y's
Campaign raises funds to help ensure that important Y programs like swim swim lessons, youth and adult sports, summer camp, preschool, and Educare remain accessible to everyone in our community. We have set our fundraising goal for 2016 at $100,000, which would help us provide over $218,532 in financial assistance to those who need it most.

Horizon Club

The Horizon Club is a group of individuals that have made an endowment gift to the Y. These individuals have seen the positive influence that the YMCA has on our community and want to make sure that the Y is here for many years to come.

Contributions to the La Porte County Family YMCA’s endowment fund, whether as an outright gift or as part of your estate planning, make that dream a reality by ensuring that the Y is here in La Porte County for future generations. If you would like more information about the Horizon Club, please call Development Director Shirley Hermsen at (219) 326-1327.
