Teachers

The Y Childcare and Learning Center and MCAS Educare Learning Academy are currently hiring for the 2014-2015 school year for licensed teachers to head our classrooms in both Michigan City and La Porte. Requirements are as follows: Must have a CDA, associate, or a bachelors in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. Director of Child Development

The La Porte County YMCA is seeking an experienced professional to lead their state licensed, NECPA accredited Child Care and Learning Center. The Director of Child Development will be responsible for the daily operations of all early childhood education programs including the stand alone Child Care and Learning Center and several traditional half day preschool programs in various community locations and the all day, public school based preschool with before and after school care (Educare). Responsibilities also include program development, monitoring adherence to state licensing and NECPA regulations, oversight of State of Indiana Step Ahead Voucher Program, oversight of Federal Food Program and other program related grants, budget development and management, supervision and development of staff and volunteers and building community partnerships. Wellness Director

The La Porte County YMCA is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Associations work in Health and Wellness. The Healthy Living Director will be responsible for the daily operations of the wellness program delivery including the Wellness Center Floor, Personal Training program, and Group Exercise Classes. Responsibilities also include program development, budget development and management, new member on boarding, supervision and development of staff and volunteers, member support and engagement, membership retention and building community partnerships and operation of all health and wellness programs: Adult Fitness, Youth Fitness, Group Exercise, Corporate Wellness, Annual Tri-Athlon, Specialty Classes and Programs. The Healthy Living Director will also serve as the lead in the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program. This individual should be recognized as a leader in fitness and wellness with members, staff, and the community. Kidwatch Caregiver

Join our team! Are you great with kids? Do you want make a difference in a child's life? The La Porte County Family YMCA branch is looking for a flexible, team player to work part-time hours both morning and evenings in our Kidwatch area. This caregiver position focused mainly on guiding and encouraging children ages 6 months - 13 yrs. while their parents participate in other Y program opportunities. This individual must be self-motivated, patient, responsible and engaging. We also require a strong understanding of the Y mission and proven childcare skills. Before and After School Site Assistant

The Y is hiring for a Site Assistant for our Latchkey Program located at Rolling Prairie Elementary School. Hours are 6:00-8:30 a.m. and 2:30-6:00 p.m. on operating school days. Applicants must have completed high school or equivalent and be at least 21 years of age. Qualified individuals must demonstrate the ability to work well with young children.
