STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY IS OUR CAUSE

The La Porte County Family YMCA is a leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are a powerful association of men, woman and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of our community.

With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Our Y ensures that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. To do our important work, our Y relies on support from members, donors, volunteers and community leaders.

Our Y believes that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our community. Every day our impact is felt when a mentor inspires a child, when an individual makes a healthy choice and when the community comes together for the common good.

Our Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. Be a part of a cause committed to moving people and communities forward.

Y FAMILY SWIM

Every Friday Evening at 7:45 pm - 9:45 pm
A Y tradition! Each Friday evening, as part of our commitment to building strong families, we have designated times for family swim time in our indoor pool. This is a great way to introduce your children to swimming as a lifelong exercise...and it's fun too! Free to Y members. Children under age 12 must have an adult with them to swim at this time.

AQUATIC CLASSES

AQUA BOOT CAMP - Get ready for a very challenging, intense and ultimate work out! Using weights, noodles and the natural resistance of water, this class will get your heart rate up while toning your entire body.

AQUA ZUMBA - Make a splash and join our "pool party!" Aqua Zumba is a challenging and effective water-based workout that integrates a mixture of body-sculpting movements and dance moves to maximize fat burning and total body toning. We encourage the whole family to participate but all children must be able to stand flat footed in the shallow end and the water must be no higher than their chest.

A.M. AQUACISE - An aerobic workout that challenges both beginner and advanced levels of fitness. This class will allow you to strengthen your whole body with the natural resistance of the water. The faster you move, push and pull, the greater the resistance will be in your workout. Get up early and make a splash!

ARTHRITIS CLASS - Certified by the arthritis foundation, this is a beginning level fitness which requires your physicians consent. Slow movements in shoulder deep water help to increase strength and flexibility. Come swim away your aches and pains!

SILVERSPLASH® - This water fitness class is designed to enhance each individual’s quality of life and daily function. A variety of exercises utilizing the physical properties of water will help you increase agility, range of movement and cardiovascular conditioning. No swimming skills are necessary. Join in fitness, fun and friends!

NOTE: REFUNDS ARE NOT GIVEN FOR CLASS CANCELLATIONS DUE TO WEATHER. IF THE Y CANCELS A PAID CLASS FOR NON-WEATHER REASONS, A CASH REFUND WIL ONLY BE GIVEN IF MAKE-UP CLASSES ARE NOT OFFERED.
