The La Porte County Family YMCA strengthens the foundations of our community through well-being and fitness, camps, family time, swim, sports and play, and other activities for people of all ages, incomes and abilities. Do you need some extra time for shopping on Friday? Bring the kids to the Y for our School Day Out camp from 6am-6pm. Children will participate in group games, arts and crafts, swimming and much more! Call the La Porte Y branch at 325-9622 to register. $20 for members and $30 for non members. 

Just a friendly reminder, the Y facilities will be closed tomorrow for Thanksgiving. We are thankful for our members, friends, volunteers and donors of our cause-driven organization and hope you all have a wonderful holiday and safe travels!

If you are taking part in the "Turkey Trot" with the Educational Development Foundation tomorrow our entrance off of Michigan Ave. will be open to help keep those participants warm. 

FollowtheFORD, will be hosting a FREE Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow at the Y from 11 am until 5 pm for all of those interested. This Positive Seed event is free and open to the entire community. 

Starting December 1st, the La Porte County Family YMCA will be offering Pay the Day. When you sign up for a membership, the cost of your joiner fee will be the amount equal to the day of the month. So say you sign up for a membership on December 5th, your joiner fee is only $5! Our normal joiner fees are $25 for college students & youth, $50 for adults and $75 for single parent families & families.

La Porte Community and New Prairie United school corporations are now closed for the day. The Y will have Snow Day out camp for all kids attending a school that is not in session today. Register at the front desk of the La Porte branch Y and bring a sack lunch, swimsuit and towel. Due to the school closures, there will be no swim lessons or Tae Kwon Do at the La Porte branch. For scheduled basketball practices, please contact your coach. Michigan City Educare program is running on a regular schedule today. Drive safely and remember the Y is always here for you & your family!

No School? No Problem! When school is out or there is a snow day, you can count on the Y to provide your child with a full day of fun, learning activities. We offer full-day mini-camps for when there is no school according to the La Porte Public School System. Children can be dropped off as early as 6 a.m. and picked up as late as 6 p.m. Trained, caring counselors lead children in scheduled activities throughout the day including, games, gym time, arts & crafts, movies, swimming and much more!
