STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY IS OUR CAUSE

The La Porte County Family YMCA is a leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are a powerful association of men, woman and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of our community.

With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Our Y ensures that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. To do our important work, our Y relies on support from members, donors, volunteers and community leaders.

Our Y believes that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our community. Every day our impact is felt when a mentor inspires a child, when an individual makes a healthy choice and when the community comes together for the common good.

Our Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. Be a part of a cause committed to moving people and communities forward.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

For Social Responsibility

Giving back and providing support to our neighbors
We know that when we work as one, we move people and communities forward. That's why we are committed to providing support to our neighbors and opportunities for kids, adults and families to give, join in or advocate in the name of the stronger communities.  It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.

Community Services
At the Y, building a stronger community begins at home. We help young people develop cultural competencies, diverse populations connect to the community and individuals gain access to life-changing resources and support. As an interconnected community network, the Y has the resources and solutions to build bridges and make our changing communities stronger.

Volunteer

Social Services
To bring about meaningful change, people need ongoing encouragement and tools. We're here day-in and day-out to provide the resources our communities need to address the most pressing social issues, including child welfare, education and public health. We work to make every child, family and community has what they need to achieve their best.

Volunteering and Giving
The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. It is only through the support of our thousands of volunteers, public and private donors that we are able to give back to the communities we serve.

Give

Advocacy
We are a powerful ally and advocate for communities. Our experience and strong relationships in neighborhoods across La Porte County mean that we are able to organize grassroots efforts and influence public policy around a range of social issues, including child welfare, education and public health.
